A new website does not show up on Google by itself. The list below is the one we use at every site launch, split in three parts: technical, content and local. Most points take five minutes to check with free tools.
Technical
- The site is indexable. Search
site:yourdomain.comon Google. If nothing shows two weeks after launch, checkrobots.txtand thenoindexmeta tag, often forgotten from the development period. - You submitted the sitemap in Google Search Console. Free, five minutes, and the only place where you see what Google indexed and which errors it has.
- One version of the address.
http, https, with and withoutwwwmust all redirect to a single one. - Mobile speed. Run PageSpeed Insights. Under 70 on mobile, you have a problem. Our static sites pass 95 without special effort.
- Every page has a unique title and description. Title under 60 characters, with the main keyword and the city if relevant. Description under 155, written to earn the click.
- One H1 per page, saying what the page is about, not “Welcome”.
- Images have alt text and are WebP, at suitable sizes.
- Structured data. Organization or LocalBusiness on all pages, Service on service pages, FAQPage where you have questions. Check with Google’s Rich Results test.
- The 404 page exists and is useful. Not a blank server page.
- Internal links work. A link to a page that no longer exists is a loss for the visitor and for Google.
Content
- Every service has its own page. A “Services” page with a six-line list ranks for nothing. Six pages, each with 400–800 words, rank for six searches.
- Copy answers what the customer searches for. How much, how long, what is included, who it is for. Not “we are a young and dynamic team”.
- The keyword appears naturally in the title, the first paragraph and a subheading. Not 15 times.
- You have an FAQ page or questions at the end of every service page. They are exactly the long searches people make.
- Portfolio or concrete examples. Google and customers prefer proof over promises.
- A content plan, even minimal. One good article a month beats ten weak ones. Pick topics from the questions customers ask you on the phone.
Local
- Google Business Profile completed. Correct category, hours, phone, real photos, address or service area. For a local business, this is where most calls come from.
- Name, address and phone are identical on the site, on the Google profile and on any other directory.
- The city appears in page titles where it matters: “ENT Clinic Timișoara”, not just “ENT Clinic”.
- Reviews. Ask happy customers, reply to all of them.
- City or area pages if you serve several, with different content, not copied with the city swapped.
- A map on the contact page and a link to the Google profile.
What comes after launch
SEO does not end at launch. In the first month, check Search Console weekly for indexing errors. After three months, see which pages get impressions but few clicks and rewrite their titles. After six months you have enough data to decide which new content is worth writing.
If you want us to run the list on your site, the SEO audit can be bought on its own.
